Bathroom Palette #2: Copper & Turquoise

Lo so, manco da parecchio. E non sto rispettando per niente il calendario editoriale del blog.
L’anno è iniziato, almeno qui sul bagnidalmondo, molto a rilento. Un po’ sottotono direi. Diciamo pure che me la sto prendendo comoda. Confesso che ho mille cose per la testa e poca lucidità per concentrarmi. Di solito mi impongo di scrivere comunque ma stavolta mi sono goduta un po’ di relax. Ho aperto l’agenda 2015 e mi sono data degli obiettivi, senza stress però. Sto organizzando le rubriche, cercando di capire quali appuntamenti fissi rispettare, buttando giù le idee.
Dopo un primo post dell’anno dedicato al 2014, oggi si riparte dall’ultima rubrica dell’anno scorso: Bathroom Palette. Una raccolta di immagini di stanze da bagno accomunate dalle stesse sfumature di colori.
Ieri sera ho proposto sulla pagina Facebook tre diverse palette e il rame (meglio, il Copper Orange, colore dell’anno secondo il Colour Futures di Azko Nobel) ha vinto senza rivali. Io l’ho proposto però abbinato al verde acqua nelle sue mille sfumature. Un turchese molto caldo che rende l’ambiente un po’ orientaleggiante.
Una palette di colori che starebbe benissimo in un bagno in stile bohemien o in stile marocchino, non trovate?

I know, I appear missing. And I’m not respecting the editorial calendar of this blog.
The new year has begun in a quite slow way. A little bit subdued. I must confess, I have thousands of thoughts so I’m not able to focus on writing. Usually I try to write in any situation but this time I’ve decided to keep calm and enjoy a little bit of relax. I’ve opened my 2015 planner and I’ve fixed my goals, but without stress!
After the first post of the year, dedicated to my 2014, today we start with the last column of last year: Bathroom Palette. A gallery of bathroom images matched together according to colour shades.
Yesterday evening I’ve posted on the Facebook fan page three different palettes you were asked to choose, and the winner was… Copper Orange! I’ve matched it with a deep and warm shade of turquoise, then creating a palette that reminds me of oriental atmospheres, bohemian interiors and a cool maroccan style.
 
 
 

Una sala da bagno di carattere trovata su Houzz, realizzata inserendo un lavabo in rame lavorato (spettacolare) e una cassettiera intarsiata con decori orientaleggianti. Il turchese intenso alle pareti rende l’ambiente un po’ scuro ma d’effetto.

Questo è il bagno di una delle suite del Number Thirty Eitght Hotel di Bristol, un albergo di lusso in cui ogni camera è arredata in stile differente. La vasca da bagno in rame è la protagonista principale di questo ambiente.

Un interno che richiama sicuramente atmosfere arabeggianti però c’è una nota leggermente più moderna: il pavimento in piastrelle, che a me sembrano di vetro trasparente.

Un ambiente incredibile, la stanza da bagno della casa privata di Jorge Pardo (artista e architetto). La storia di questa abitazione è straordinaria: pare sia il primo progetto di Pardo, che nel 1993 – appena trentenne – fu invitato ad esporre al MOCA e decise di costruire la propria abitazione e di esporla come opera d’arte. La casa, finita nel 1998, fu presentata come progetto e aperta al pubblico, per poi essere abitata dall’artista. Tutto, dalle piastrelle alle lampade, è stato progettato da Jorge Pardo.
 

The incredible bathroom of cuban artist Jorge Pardo’s private house.  The story of this house is extraordinary: it seems to be the first project of a joung Pardo, at that time a 30-year-old boy who was neither architect nor an artist. In 1993 he was asked to present an exhibition at MOCA and he decided to build his own house, six miles away, and exhibit it as a work of art. The house, finished five years later, was then opened to public for 5 weeks, before he moved in. Everything, from tiles to lamps, has been designed by Jorge Pardo.

 

La mia sfumatura di turchese preferita. Un rame un po’ brunito in questa immagine, che secondo me è ancora più bello.

Le immagini di prima erano molto forti ma non è detto che questi colori debbano essere per forza dominanti. Possono anche essere solo degli accenni creati con dei dettagli o con i tessuti.

Copper & turquoise don’t need to be the main colours of the interior project, not necessarily. They could also be a touch of colour, given by details, drapery or bathroom towels.

Non sono riuscita a trovare molte immagini con questo abbinamento di colori, mi sarebbe piaciuto mostrare qualcosa anche di meno intenso, un abbinamento un po’ desaturato, qualcosa di particolare che potrebbe star bene in un ambiente non per forza così orientaleggiante. La mia ricerca proseguirà… intanto che ne dite?

Può ispirare qualcosina? 😉
