Non è facile portare avanti una rubrica del genere, perché non è facile trovare foto di stanze da bagno con una predominante di colore (che mi piaccia). Il giallo per esempio non è un colore che mi fa impazzire. Se ben abbinato però… mi sa stupire. Per esempio, in cameretta io lo sto abbinando al grigio, nei tessuti. Ma in bagno? Si può usare in bagno? Me lo sono chiesta… e questa è la risposta.
It’s not easy to go on with this column, because it’s not easy to find bathroom pictures with a particular shade of colour (that I like). Yellow, for example, is not one of the colours I appreciate so much. If well used, instead, it can be amazing. I’m trying to use it my home office together with a touch of grey in this period… but what about the bathroom? I was wondering how it can be combined in this room… and here’s the answer!
Essenziale. Luminoso. Originale. I 3 aggettivi che mi sono venuti in mente guardando questo ambiente, il bagno di una casa galleggiante nel porto di Copenaghen. Completamente bianco e lineare, sarebbe quasi anonimo e asettico se non fosse per la sferzata di energia data dal giallo del pavimento, che nella zona doccia pende verso la canalina di scarico. Il lavabo è della Galassia!
Essential. Bright. Original. These are the 3 adjectives that came to my mind while looking at this bathroom, that belongs to a floating house in Copenaghen harbour. Being white and bright it would be almost anonymous without that submarine yellow floor! So cool 🙂

Singapore, un’abitazione privata predominata dal grigio della finitura cemento. Un ambiente troppo freddo per i miei gusti ma nella stanza da bagno la ciotola utilizzata come lavabo ingentilisce l’atmosfera donandole un briciolo di calore.
Singapore, a private house who’s characterized by grey shades of the cement walls and floors. “Too grey” to me, sincerely speaking, but the light yellow sink gives a little bit of warmth.

Il giallo non è il mio colore preferito, anzi. Eppure, in abbinamento con il grigio ha il suo perché. Anche in un bagno altrimenti insignificante come questo qui sopra (intendo senza gli elementi gialli!).
Yellow is not one of my favorite colours, I must confess. But I like it if used together with grey, like in the picture above. What do you think about this yellow bathroom idea?

San Francisco, abitazione privata della product designer Windi Chien risalente al 1906. Coloratissima e singolare, è arredata con pezzi vintage in grado di far apprezzare ancora di più le origini della casa. In bagno credo che il parquet sia stato recuperato per esempio. E la tubature sono lasciate a vista!
San Francisco, this bathroom is part of the private house of product designer Windi Chien, dating back to 1906. Colourfull and original, it’s furnished with vintage elements such as old fashioned chairs or tables. We can still see the bathroom’s pipes outside the walls!

Uno stile completamente diverso dai precedenti, pavimento in cotto e mattonelle tipicamente mediterranee, gialle e calde come la vasca da bagno. Non è esattamente il bagno dei miei sogni ma è bellissimo vedere come cambiano gli stili da un paese all’altro!
A totally different styled bathroom, in a typical spanish look. So warm! It’s not my style, I admit, but it’s interesting to see how interiors change from one country to another.
