Tornare in Africa è uno dei miei sogni.
Sono stata in Tunisia, Madagascar e Kenya e ora sogno la Namibia o il Sud Africa. C’è qualcosa nella terra africana che ti resta dentro e non ti lascia più. La luce del cielo, i colori e gli odori forti, gli sguardi della gente, il ritmo della loro musica, il calore dei loro sorrisi.
Lo chiamano Mal d’Africa. Ed esiste.
Per fortuna con la rete si può viaggiare anche solo virtualmente, ed è quello che faremo oggi. Voleremo in Namibia, in un resort (l‘Olive Exclusive) dove il design si fonde con il calore di questa terra. E partiremo ovviamente dalle splendide sale da bagno delle sue sette suites…
I have a dream: going back to Africa.
I have already been in Tunisia, Madagascar and Kenya and now I’m dreaming of Namibia or South Africa. There’s something in the african land that remains in your soul once you’ve been there and never leaves you anymore. The light of the african sky, the colours and the strong smells, people’s and children’s gaze, the rythm of their music, the warmth of their smiles.
They call it Mal d’Afrique. And it does exist.
Luckily nowadays we can virtually travel by surfing on the net, so that’s what we’re going to do today. We’ll fly to Namibia, to discover an exclusive and intimate boutique hotel (The Olive Exclusive) where design matches the warmth of the african land. Starting from the stylish bathrooms we’ll visite its wonderful seven suites.
Stanze da bagno in stile africano
Non è il classico stile africano barra coloniale fatto di statuine, decori tribali e legno. In questo resort pezzi di design moderno (vasche da bagno di design, lavabi contemporanei) sono inseriti in un contesto in cui si fonde più di uno stile. In alcune suite è più chiara l’impronta coastal, in altre quasi una shabby, in altre ancora ci si tuffa in ambienti tipicamente africani.
È un vero e proprio viaggio negli stili d’arredo bagno fatto all’interno di un unico resort.
Queste sono solo alcune delle foto che ho raccolto sulla loro pagina facebook. Sul sito ufficiale ce ne sono tantissime, ma ad un certo punto sono scappata perché mi stavo facendo del male!
Guardare questo posto e non poter partire immediatamente… è il male!

Beautiful bathrooms in a typical african style
You won’t find the usual african style made of tribal decorations, wood and little ebony sculpures. In this exotic resort there’s more than one style in the same context. Design and modern bathtubs and sinks are matched with a coastal style in some of the suites, with a colonial mood in some others, even with a shabby accent in some of the others. Obviously the common trend is typically african.
It’s a real journey through different bathroom styles all mixed together in a unique resort.

Looking at this paradise and not being able to leave immediately… is too much for me!
