I proprietari di questa sala da bagno, un musicista e una terapista di Chiswick (Londra), si sono rivolti agli interior designer chiedendo di realizzare un vero e proprio santuario al posto del solito bagno. E hanno atteso ben 18 mesi prima di vederlo finito, tra incontro, valutazioni e progetti. Il risultato però, ammetterete anche voi, è straordinario.
Io amo i colori più chiari ma i dettagli di questo progetto sono degni di un intero post.
Una parete curva per isolare l’area relax
La prima volta che ho visto l’immagine mi aspettavo una zona doccia dietro questa parete, invece, abbracciata letteralmente dal mosaico italiano Bisazza porpora scuro (sembra nero vero?), c’è la vasca da bagno freestanding. Il riscaldamento dell’ambiente è a pavimento ma è stato comunque aggiunto uno scaldasalviette tubolare in questa zona (foto più in basso).
Di fronte, in legno di ebano di Macassar, c’è la sauna, la cui struttura integra una colonna chiusa con anta curva che fa da contenitore.
Sentirsi una celebrità in casa propria
Il mobile da bagno è sospeso, nella stessa finitura, e include due lavandini e rubinetteria da incasso a parete e una specchiera che se non sbaglio dovrebbe essere anch’essa un modello con contenitore. Di fronte al mobile è stata progettata una consolle simile a quella presente nei camerini negli artisti, con tanto di specchiere con illuminazione integrata, e un’elegante seduta in pelle nera.
Doccia su misura
La cabina doccia, realizzata su misura e ricavata in una parte del sottotetto, è chiusa da due pareti in vetro trasparente e ha un enorme piatto quadrato con canalina di scarico rettangolare. Il soffione solo a vederlo mi fa venire in mente la sensazione di stare sotto la pioggia.
Il bagno è interamente rivestito di ardesia gallese e ha un sistema ad infrarossi che attiva l’illuminazione soffusa nel caso di capatine notturne al bagno. La chicca finale è l’impianto di filodiffusione che permette di ascoltare musica in tutti i punti del bagno, anche all’interno della sauna.
Il progetto ha vinto il SIBD 2012 International Design Awards.

I designer che hanno realizzato il progetto e seguito la ristrutturazione del bagno appartengono al team Increation, giovane squadra inglese con all’attivo già diversi importanti lavori vincitori di premi di prestigio. Creativi e ambiziosi, a quanto pare.

UK, the bathroom-sanctuary with a made in Italy detail
The pictures I present you today show an extraordinary renovation of a private bathroom located in UK. The owners, a musician and a therapist based in Chiswick (London), asked the designers team for a proper sanctuary. And that’s what they have now, after 18 months of councils and projects. The result is extraordinary and surely deserves this post.
A bath area hidden by a curved unique wall
When I first saw the curved wall I thought it was a shaped shower zone. Instead, the wall hides the freestanding bathtub, literally “embraced” by italian Bisazza purple mosaic. The bathroom has under floor heating throughout but in the bath zone there’s an additional radiator.
In front of the curved wall there’s the sauna, in Macassa (the same finishing of the bathroom vanity), and a huge storage unit hidden in the curve (just to replicate the shape of the bath area).
At home as a celebrity
The floating bathroom vanity has two sinks and walk mounted basin taps. On the opposite side they have a dressing table with special mirrors with integrated lighting and an elegant black leather chair.
Made to measure shower enclosure
The shower zone is totally made to measure under the roof and has two big glass panels and a squared shower tray in a dark finishing. The shower head is so big that I can feel as I am under the rain.
The bathroom floor is made from Welsh slate.
Technology | An infrared system ensures a soft low-level lights for late night visits to the room. In the end, the owners can listen to their favorite music thanks to ceilings speakers integrated throughout the bathroom (even in the sauna).
This fantastic project also won the SIBD 2012 International Design Awards.

The project of this bathroom has been designed by team Increation, a very young team expert in luxury bathroom and kitchen renovations.
